BNEI AKIVA

Bnei Akiva is a world wide religious Zionist youth movement which meets on a Shabbat afternoon. It is flourishing in Melbourne with an average 250 to 300 chanichim (participants) every week. Shevet Yuval is the new group for all abilities. It allows chanichim to experience the same atmosphere of Jewish connection, learning and Zionism. Led by passionate madrichim the chanichim enjoy a variety of fun activities designed to enrich their lives in this uniquely Jewish atmosphere.

In addition to weekly meetings there are occasional functions and special events. These are inclusive events and allow for all abilities to come together and enjoy a Shabbaton or a program for a festival.

If you would like any more information please contact Ayelet Ben-Danan on 041222775 or click here to email Bnei

BASKETBALL

Maccabi Victoria is now running an all abilities basketball group. At present there is a practice one night a week at Wesley Elsternwick or at Bialik College. In the group players are 15 and over but a younger group would be established if there were the numbers. Likewise they are looking into an all abilities group in some of the other team sports including:

  • soccer
  • lawn bowls
  • table tennis
